This really is a fine site. Especially for those of us born and bred in the town and now living away. You can take the lad out of Burnley but you can't take Burnley out of the lad.

I loved the photos of the badges but one of them brought back a rather sad memory. When we won the FA youth cup back in the 60s I was on the pitch at the end with thousands of other Clarets celebrating. Unfortunately someone nicked my bobble hat that had many badges on and I was really upset on a night when I should have been so happy. Seeing that badge brought back that memory.

I am a native of Burnley & despite having moved away 50 years ago, I spent many happy days staying with my grandparents during school holidays. I was particularly thrilled to see your postcards of the Old Market Hall, the grandparents, Sydney & Elsie Webb ran a salad stall on the corner of the outside market for years, right up until it was redeveloped and I can still conjurer up the particular smell & sound of market day and also remember been taken round and been 'shown off' to all the stall holders as ` our Peter's eldest'. My grandpa took us on extremely long walks all around the surrounding countryside and also to Townley Park which was near where they lived...there wasn't a golf course then- just space for playing, damming the stream was our favourite, and although is been a while since I've been back I treasure my memories which your website has rekindled. Thank you.

I never realised how many BFC badges there were, and as for player cards, I remember these when I was young and all the packets you had to buy to get the 1 you had missing!! Great site, keep up the good work!
