my photography equipment

This is the camera equipment I have, and the majority of the photos on this site have been taken using the cameras listed here.

As you can see, I am a fan of Nikon, and I have been for a number of years now. I have no axe to grind, or any negative views on the other leading makes, indeed I have owned Canon, Fuji and Pentax SLR's over the years, but only Nikon DSLR.

The Nikon D80 Digital SLR is capable of 3fps and 10 million pixels. It has a magnesium body so feels very robust in your hands. Uses Nikon F mount (with AF coupling and AF contacts), and like my other Nikons uses SD storage media.

The Nikon D40 Digital SLR is capable of 2.5fps and 6.1 million pixels. It is much lighter than the D80 but is still comfortable to handle, and is my preferred 'grab-and-shoot' camera. Like the D80, uses Nikon F mount (with AF coupling and AF contacts), and uses SD storage media.

I carry 3x 4GB Sandisk SD cards and 2 spare batteries. This gives me a very large shooting capacity in JPG format, and quite an impressive capability in RAW format.

I have 3 Nikon Flashguns, a SB400, which I use the most, An SB600 whcih coupled with my SB800 gives me loads of options for portrait and still (badges!!!) photography.

These cameras and lenses create superb photos when printed up to 11.7x16.5" (A3) and are great for poster, media and homefamilyalbum photos. This together with the accessories I have gives me a great setup!

For many years I have used Ken Rockwell's excellent website for the best, unbiassed reviews of all kinds of camera equipment and photo techniques. Click here to visit his impressive site to see for yourself.
